Aero-Topo is a proposal for a multi-age sports hub that explores the sporting requirements of the aging population as predicted in the year 2050. With the majority of the population speculated to be within the middle-aged to elderly range, Aero-Topo seeks to provide a sporting facility that accommodates to the various age groups by providing sports of various intensities. The hub derives is geometry from chimneys, encouraging airflow into the sporting spaces. The implementation of a strategic porosity in the chimney walls allows for plants to grow within the wall itself, allowing for air renewal. The strategic density wall porous-ness is derived from the amount of sun exposure each wall face receives across the year with less porosity in high exposure faces and more porosity in less exposure faces.
