Project Info

Parking Day began as a single installation in San Francisco in 2005. It has gained a global following with more than 160 cities in six continents taking part in the event. Last year, led by Assistant Professor Chong Keng Hua in collaboration with local NGOs Participate-in-Design (P!D) and ReallyArchitecture (re:ACT), SUTD student group “Our City!” converted four parking spaces along Circuit Road into community gardens as part of Singapore’s first Park(ing) Day. The installation aimed to share the road with pedestrians, in hope for a more people-friendly street.
