Originally an industrial shipyard shed, this vast space lying in the port of Dunkerque was founded in 1983 before undergoing a redevelopment project by the Fond Régional d’Art Contemporain (FRAC). The FRAC of the Nord-Pas de Calais region boasts a massive extension, of equal volume to the original building, traversed lenghtwise that houses the programme. The existing shed functions alongside the new building, accommodating public events and supporting heavy logistics, and is linked to its more modern counterpart via footbridges.
