SUTD Master of Architecture Guest Lecture, Executive Director of t e c o, Chie Konno

Chie Konno is founder of the Tokyo-based architecture office t e c o which has designed award-winning projects throughout Japan, Asia and Europe. She is associate professor at the Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT), where her laboratory conducts urban and architectural research. Architect Konno specialises in the design of housing, welfare and public facilities, where she seeks to create spaces that connect across social structures and institutions. She has also made notable contributions in urban development and art installations. Her main works include the Kasugadai community cultural centre, winner of the 2023 Architectural Institute of Japan Award. Her design for the Sunny Loggia House was winner of the 2012 Tokyo Society of Architects & Building Engineers, Residential Architecture Gold Prize, and the 2014 Architectural Institute of Japan Award for New Designer of the Year. Konno holds a PhD from the Tokyo Institute of Technology and studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
